Year of Ami

What's it all about?
Small, easy, super cute, stash-busting, fun, freebies.
Year-long challenge, working my way alphabetically through FREE patterns, available online. Stuff I've come across, printed, and yet never seem to get around to making, even though it's darn cute. Stuff that once you finally make yourself sit down with hook/needle and yarn, takes just a couple hours at the most.
I knit & crochet, so one of each, each week. We'll cover the alphabet twice before we're through.
I post about any errata, modifications, or whatever else I think might be helpful or fun.
Since all the patterns are already out there, for free, anyone can join in at any time. Or just come back and look for your favorites later, when you're looking for that just-right quick project for a last-minute gift.
That's what it's about.

To see what we've done, click on A Year of Ami over on the side under "labels".

*update*
this challenge is also about finishing stuff. and knowing you can finish stuff.
I wish some of the projects were a little more in line with the whole "couple of hours" thing...but, sometimes, you just have to go with it.

Note: I use the "magic ring" to start my crochet, and, even if the directions say different, I don't sl st and chain, I just do continuous rounds.

*found a broken link for a pattern? please please please let me know - leave me a comment, send me a message, anything - and I'll get it fixed ASAP. Nobody likes a broken link.
